Isabelle’s Successful Year
It’s been a full on 12 months of hockey for Isabelle. After playing for West Panthers at the U13 festival in Nottingham in July 2024, Isabelle was selected for the UK Lions squad. This is a year long process to give players a taste of international hockey accompanied with having fun.
The first event was a training camp on the Devon coast. Not only did they play hockey, but went surfing and bowling. This led to a tour to Malaga just before Christmas, training and playing against a Spanish club, a training camp in Surrey in February playing against a very strong Surbiton side and an indoor tournament in Derby in May. The culmination of the Lions process was an outdoor tournament in Amsterdam at Easter playing against teams from Germany and The Netherlands.
Alongside this, Isabelle was the youngest player to be part of the Exeter Talent Academy, training 1-2 times a week and playing fixtures against other Talent Academies in the South. Isabelle was then selected to represent Exeter at the Talent Academy Cup in Nottingham in July.
And to complete her summer of hockey she rejoined the West Panthers at the Mercia Cup in Malvern.
And not forgetting last season was Isabelle’s first playing for Penzance Ladies 1st team. Not only did she love her season, but she provided amusement to her teammates!

Throughout the season and during the tour, Ladies 1s Captain Tegen Snell was a standout representative for the Royal Navy. Her exceptional performance was recognised on 23 Jul 25, at the Annual Royal Navy Hockey Awards, where she was honoured with the prestigious RN Ladies Player of the Year award.
