  • Kit Donation for Nepalese Hockey

Posted by Emily Curnow on 9 July 2019

A Truro hockey player is travelling to Nepal in July this year to volunteer in a school in Pokhara. This school is supported by Education Earthquake Nepal who aims to provide an education for children who were badly affected during the earthquakes of 2015.

They are hoping to introduce Hockey to the children as a unique and engaging way of interacting with them and giving them a healthy activity which enables them to develop a true team spirit.

To enable them to teach the children how to play hockey they are asking for some hockey equipment to give to the teams they develop in the school. Any donations, however small or large, new or used, will be appreciated massively by not only them but the children and the teachers at the school who are already excited about being possibly the first school in Nepal to have a hockey team! With 27 children currently attending this amazing school, aged between 6 – 14 years old, they would primarily like to ask for junior hockey sticks. If possible, they would also welcome any team vests and of course, safety equipment such as shin pads, mouth guards and anything else to organise games.

Please see poster for donation details
